Puel Sees Kane And Vardy Partnership
Leicester City manager Claude Puel sees a deadly partnership if Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur combine with Jamie Vardy. England manager Gareth Southgate prefers a lone wolf to lead the attack and Kane is the likely man for the job. However, Puel insists that Kane and Vardy can combine in attack at the forthcoming World Cup. Vardy has been on a decent goal streak this season even though Kane has been on a much more impressive one, currently leading the chart in the Premier League.
Puel added that it would be “amazing” to see the duo combine in action for England national side. Southgate is hoping to supervise an improved performance from England at the World Cup especially as the Three Lions have characteristically messed up many times in the past. Ahead of the visit of Stoke City in the Premier League this weekend, Puel is happy to see Vardy lead the attacking line. The coach said his Foxes star is in good form, with good attitude and is also hard working. Puel added that Vardy has help from teammates who help him with assists.
While Vardy is being praised as an invaluable member of the Leicester team and likely one of the forwards to go to Russia, Gary Cahill of Chelsea is on a poor form. The central defender and one of the leaders in the Three Lions and Blues setup stands a risk of missing the mundial, which might be his very last. There are reports filtering in that the coach is not happy with the situation of the player, who missed Chelsea recent biggest game in the Champions League against Barcelona.
