UEL: LEICESTER DRAWN WITH NAPOLI, OTHERS

English Premier League outfitLeicester City have been drawn with Italian Serie A club Napoli, Russian Premier League giants Spartak Moscow, and Polish team Legia Warsaw after the draw for the UEFA Europa League (UEL) group stage was held on Friday morning.
Apart from Leicester City, West Ham United are the other team from England in the group stage as far as the Europa League is concerned. West Ham United are in Group H alongside Genk from Belgium, Austrian team Rapid Vienna and Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb.
Leicester City qualified for the Europa League group stage after finishing as the fifth best team in England last season. They were fifth on the Premier League log last term. The Foxes narrowly missed out on a place in the Champions League and had to settle for a place in the Europa League. Leicester City were in the Champions League places for several months until the final days of the season whenthey dropped out. Only the top four teams in the Premier League are guaranteed a place in the Champions League every season. Leicester City dropped out of the top four following the defeat to Chelsea during the penultimate round of games.
The Foxes would have sealed a place in the Premier League top four if they managed tobeat Tottenham Hotspur during the last round of matches. Leicester City led until the final quarter of the game when Spurs scored three times to win the game 4-2 and condemn Leicester City to the Europa League.
While Leicester City booked their place in the Europa League group stage as the fifth best team in England, West Ham United secured their own spot as the sixth best team in England.
