ENGLAND DREAMS

By Engerlund

Hodgson has been going to a lot of Premier League matches keeping in watch those players that are eligible on making their way to the 2014 World Cup which is now a few months away from beginning.

Andros Townsend and Ravel Morrison are players that have been making an impressive season as well as a number of other ones that are playing fairly well with their respective clubs and this has made Hodgson speak up about the current situation he is and will be going through.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, he said: “At the moment, I’ve seen a lot of our England players and contenders for England places playing extremely well. I wish I could bottle up some of the form and keep it’’.

“It’s quite fascinating at the moment going to games. The number of players getting games, especially some of the youngsters, is good. There are a lot of teams fielding English players in their line-up at the moment and I’m seeing a lot of good performances. If I had to pick a team for the World Cup today, it would be a major headache.”

During the last World Cup, England was eliminated from the competition after losing against Germany with a scoreboard of 4-1 as they played in the round of 16. This time around they are hoping of getting further.

Even though England was placed into one of the hardest groups out there, Hodgson believes they can do it.

He added: “We had an equally tough group in the Euros and we got out of that group and got ourselves to the quarter-finals. We believe we can do it. There are no easy groups in the World Cup.”

England has to face off against Italy a side that has already claimed the World Cup trophy on 4 occasions and are favorites on making it into the quarter-finals. Uruguay is another of their opponents, a team that will be guided by Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani. Costa Rica is the other remaining team.
