GOLDEN BOOT: KANELEVEL WITH SALAH
Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is now the joint leading goalscorer in the Premier League this season alongside Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah after his goal against Aston Villa at the weekend. England international star Kane had trailed Salah by one goal on the scoring chart in the league this season but he had an advantage of an extra game and that was the trip to face Aston Villa at Villa Park. The England striker made the one-game advantage count after he netted to move to 17 goals in the Premier League this term alongside Salah. The England national team skipper scored drom on the spot in the second half after he was brought down in the Aston Villa box by Villa right-back Matty Cash. Kane made no mistake from 12 yards out to double Spurs’ lead and seal the points for his team in a 2-0 away win over Aston Villa.
The win over Aston Villa was very important to Kane, his Spurs teammates and manager Jose Mourinho. Mourinho was under pressure to get a result after the events of the last one week.
His team were convincingly second best in the North London Derby at Arsenal and were fortunate to lose 2-1 to the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium before his team suffered a disappointing exit at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia in the Europa League round of 16 stage. Spurs led 2-0 from the home leg only for the North London team to lose 3-0 after extra time in the away leg. Mislav Orsic was the hero for Dinamo Zagreb after netting two goals in regulation time and the third goal in extra time to take his team into the final eight.
