SANCHO FINALISES MAN UNITED TRANSFER
England international Jadon Sancho has finalised his big money transfer to Premier League outfit Manchester United. His transfer to link up with England national team colleagues Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire at Manchester United was made official on Friday.
Manchester United had an agreement in place with German team Dortmund for Sancho while the player was on England duty. Manchester United had to wait for him to finish his national team assignment with the Red Devils before finalising the expensive transfer.
Sancho was a member of the England squad beaten by Italy via penalty shootout at the Euro 2020 tournament. His only start at the tournament came during the quarterfinal win over Ukraine. Sancho replaced injured Arsenal star Bukayo Saka on the right side of attack as England thumped Ukraine 4-0 to move into the final four.
England winger Sancho started his career at Premier League champions Manchester City before moving to Borussia Dortmund where he played four seasons.
On his transfer, Sancho said he can’t wait to perform in the Premier League and that the chance to join Manchester United was difficult to turn down. He added that Borussia Dortmund would always hold a special place in his heart for the first team opportunity given to him by the club.
Sancho was speaking for the first time as a Manchester United player. The England winger scored 49 goals and added 63 assists in all competitions at Borussia Dortmund.
